TOASTS

You can always tell when dinner is winding down. That’s the perfect time for toasts to begin.

“Ladies and Gentleman, I’m going to play two more songs and at the end of those songs it will be time for the toasts”

It’s always nice to give your guests a heads-up about the toasts. That way people can grab a drink etc so that they’re not caught off guard. Some of your guests may be outside for instance. It’s nice to let everyone be prepared ready to enjoy the toasts of the evening.

I always make sure to have two microphones on hand - one for myself as the host, and a wireless microphone for the toast givers. This way, I can introduce each speaker from a distance and allow the toasts to take place wherever is most convenient for the room layout and photography. With the wireless microphone, the toasts aren't restricted to any particular location.

To ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for those giving toasts, it is ideal for me to speak with each person beforehand. This way, they can feel confident in how to properly hold the microphone and where to stand for the photographers. By taking the time to prepare them, they won't feel caught off guard or overwhelmed by the sudden need to give a speech.

Toasts are a special opportunity for the newlyweds to thank and honor those who are giving them. From my experience, these moments are almost always enjoyable and run smoothly. They are a highlight of the wedding celebration and something to look forward to.
